Understanding Battery Testing Is A Good Idea

As a vehicle owner, it is best to have a basic idea of maintenance for some of the components of your car or truck. These include checking the oil, tire pressure, and other fluid levels. One key component that you'll want to be knowledgeable about testing is the vehicle battery.

The battery is a vital component of every vehicle. Without it, your vehicle doesn't operate. To test it, you will need a voltmeter. Connect the red positive test lead of the voltmeter to the positive terminal of the battery. Connect the black negative test lead to the negative terminal of the battery. If the battery registers at 12.4 volts and 75 percent charged, then it is in good shape. Another key factor to note is that if the battery doesn't hold a charge then it is bad.

If you find that your battery is faulty, then getting it replaced is a priority. Visit us at Jaguar Livermore and we will take care of this and any other issues that your vehicle has.
