Electric Jaguar Prototype Makes Appearance at the Royal Wedding

Eyes around the world were turned toward Britain recently for the royal wedding of Prince Harry to Meghan Markle. A day full of ceremony and extravagance, the wedding enjoyed the participation of several British automakers who donated vehicles for the proceedings. Jaguar, for instance, provided one of the more unique additions to the wedding fleet: a Jaguar E-Type Zero.

The electric version of the iconic car uses a 40-kilowatt-hour engine that boasts a range of 240 miles when it's at a full charge. It's likewise been rated for 295 horsepower, which provides plenty of power to match its sporty design. The couple used the E-Type Zero to drive from the wedding ceremony at Windsor Castle to the reception at Frogmore House.

Unfortunately for drivers interested in the E-Type Zero, it's only a prototype and isn't available as a consumer product. That said, Jaguar has other options on the horizon that might scratch your electric itch. The 2019 Jaguar I-PACE is set to release later this year and will offer drivers a powerful SUV alongside the perks of a fully electric car.

Its 90-kWh engine will have a full-charge range of 240 miles. On top of that, drivers will enjoy performance ratings up to 395 horsepower and 512 pounds-feet of torque. That's enough to get you from zero to 60 miles per gallon in 4.5 seconds. Add in Jaguar's trademark high-class features and style, and you get an electric vehicle that's hard to beat.

The 2019 I-PACE is set to release later this year. To learn more about it, come and visit us at Jaguar Livermore in Livermore, CA. Our inventory of new Jaguar cars includes a wide range of luxury options. We'd love the chance to show you everything our vehicles have to offer.
