Iron Maiden Drummer Drives Home in Custom Classic Jaguar XJ6

Jaguar is one of the most respected luxury automakers on the market and has been for decades. What does that add up? A long legacy that the brand's biggest fans love to celebrate. Take Iron Maiden-drummer Nicko McBrain. A long-time devotee, McBrain bought his first Jaguar in 1987. And most recently? He decided to celebrate his love for the brand by investing in a custom refurbishment of a classic 1984 Jaguar XJ6.

The refurbishing process replaced and redesigned around 4,000 parts in the beloved car. The work was handled by engineers from Jaguar Land Rover Classic Works. Working for more than 3,500 man hours, they worked to give it a modern interior and improved capabilities, while still maintaining its classic look and integrating elements drawn from fifty years of Jaguar cars.

Speaking about the finished product, McBrain had nothing but good things to say. "This is my ultimate XJ," he said. "It has been a true labor of love between Jaguar Classic and myself. I’m so excited by its completion and especially to be showing it at Geneva – it really is a Greatest Hits edition and to me it defines what the Jaguar XJ is all about. It’s a credit to the craftsmanship of the Jaguar Classic team."

The work that Jaguar did for McBrain is, of course, only the tip of the iceberg of what Jaguar is capable of. Even just a quick glance at the current Jaguar lineup will reveal a wide selection of top-rated cars that combine high-performance, modern features, and luxury.
