Moving Over for Emergency Roadside Vehicles is The Law

If you have watched the local news recently, you may have come across stories involving police being injured from a highway accident. According to the National Traffic Incident Management Coalition on average, 200 people lose their lives every year on the side of the road. Unbeknownst to many Americans, Move Over laws exist in every state to prevent these types of wrecks from occurring.

Basic Move Over guidelines stipulate that drivers must slow down their vehicles and merge into the left lane whenever a public service vehicle is parked on the side of the road. If a driver is unable to change lanes, a slight turn to the left-of-center is recommended. Above all else, a speed reduction must be applied.

Everyone here at Jaguar Livermore wants to help us in our duty to make Move Over laws a priority for all drivers. If you would like to know more, come and pay us a visit. We will be happy to assist you!
